Mountain Bothies

There are two bothies on Rum maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association and are in Guirdhil and Dibidil. These bothies are in fantastic locations out in the Rum National Nature Reserve and are, by nature, very basic; carrymats and cooking stoves are a must. The MBA are currently advising that it is unsafe to use mountain bothies due to the Coronavirus pandemic. More information visit Mountain Bothies
BE PREPARED! Rum, while wonderful, can have savage weather so make sure that you have suitable clothing and footwear as the roads and tracks are very rough in places. In season midges are fierce so take precautions.
