Cycling
Visitors are welcome to bring their own bicycles which can be taken onboard the ferry for no additional cost. The tracks to Harris (16 miles return) Kilmory (10 miles return) are along uneven surfaces and are more suited to mountain bikes. There are no dedicated off road mountain bike trails and almost all of the paths on Rum have rocky and boggy sections. The roads through the village, although wider, are also rough and uneven, especially on the route out of Kinloch.
Cycling on Rum is hard work and not for the faint-hearted. Be prepared for some hard pedalling over rough and rocky tracks.
