Access Information for the Rum Cuillin – August 2022

Avian Flu has been found in the Manx Shearwater colony on Rum. NatureScot is extremely concerned about the current H5N1 strain of avian flu in Scotland and its potential impact on seabird populations.

Visitors are asked to avoid Barkeval, Hallival, Askival and Trollaval above the 450m contour line until 14th October 2022, by which time the Manx Shearwater chicks will have fledged.
